About Bimetallic Screws

A bimetallic screws is manufactured using two different metals or alloys that are combined to improve durability and performance. This design enhances the strength and lifespan of the screw and barrel, making it more reliable compared to conventional mono-metallic screws.
In bimetallic screws, the core material provides structural strength while the outer layer consists of a wear-resistant alloy coating. This combination significantly increases resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and high operating temperatures, ensuring longer service life and better performance in demanding processing conditions.
Bimetallic screws are widely used in applications involving corrosive materials, recycled or regrind plastics, calcium-filled compounds, fire-retardant additives, and plastic materials containing up to 15% glass fiber.
At Bhagwati Enterprise, advanced Stellite PTA welding technology is used for hard-facing. The alloy layer thickness is maintained above 1.5 mm, providing strong bonding, a dense surface structure, and enhanced resistance to wear, heat, and corrosion. This process significantly improves the operational life of the screw.
The base material used for manufacturing is EN41B steel, coated with a nickel-based alloy for superior protection. These screws are available in diameters ranging from 14 mm to 200 mm, with lengths of up to 6 meters. The surface hardness achieved through the Gas Nitriding + PTA process is typically 58–62 HRC.
Common plastic & engineer plastics with glass filled content below 15%.
